Environmental Sanitation: Commissioner Gives Charge On Environment Hygiene In Cross River

The Commissioner for Environment in Cross River State, Honourable Moses Osogi has charged Cross Riverians to perpetually clean their environment for avoidance of Cholera and other diseases that emanate from air pollution. Osogi who spoke through the permanent secretary of the ministry, Dr. Mrs. Rosemary Onah during the June environmental sanitation exercise,said the State-wide environmental sanitation exercise is an already established policy by the Government of Cross River State, which the ministry is only enforcing to bring back the hygienic aesthetics of the State. She charged Cross Riverians to keep their environment neat through cleaning the gutters, clearing waste and drainages in their environments to avoid cholera and diseases that emanate from air pollution. In a bid to war against drug abuse and eradicate consumption of hard drugs in the lives of young people in Ekori community, a Socio-cultural organization in Ekori yakurr Local Government Area, has commemorated the world Anti Drugs day with a public enlightenment campaign on drug control. According to the organizers of the enlightenment campaign "Ekoh-Yeyiyi" , the campaign which has been driven to public secondary schools is aimed at creating awareness in the minds of young people on the effect of drug abuse and reasons for why abstinence is absolutely essential. Refugee Week: Netballers Hold Netball Exhibition At Ogoja' C'River State

Netballers at the Adagom 1, Adagom 3 and Ukande refugee camps have held a netball exhibition at the Netball field of Adagom 1 refugee camp, at Ogoja local Government Area in Cross River State, to mark the refugee Week and international Olympic day. Recall that Netball was recently introduced to the three refugee camps in Ogoja after CSED initiative "Project 2027" training of P.E teachers in Cross River State was held in 2024, leading to the certification of coaches Stephanie Obi, Marceline Ode and Samuel Egeh who are Cameroon citizens. The three certified coaches were charged with the responsibility of providing the female players in their respective camps with access to learn the basic netballs, identify and nurture future talents of the budding Netballers.
