DRUG ABUSE: Ekoh-Yeyiyi Sensitize Students On The Effect Of Drug Abuse

In a bid to war against drug abuse and eradicate consumption of hard drugs in the lives of young people in Ekori community, a Socio-cultural organization in Ekori yakurr Local Government Area, has commemorated the world Anti Drugs day with a public enlightenment campaign on drug control.

According to the organizers of the enlightenment campaign "Ekoh-Yeyiyi" , the campaign which has been driven to public secondary schools is aimed at creating awareness in the minds of young people on the effect of drug abuse and reasons for why abstinence is absolutely essential.
In different public schools where workshops were held by the Organization, students were lectured on the different kind of drugs, their effects and why they should avoid the intake, pointed out the harm those drugs have caused to numerous lives and the loss of lives that have been recorded globally as a result of drug addiction.

They further mentioned that drug addiction despite becoming a habit can be disjointed from only if the individual can adhere to medical counsel and also abstinence. Emphasized on the need to totally avoid the outset of drug intake and abuse by all ages.

The teachers of the schools extoled the organizers and expressed gratitude to them for having the safety of the young ones and the community at heart and also capturing them in their schedule of programmes. while the students also thanked the organizers for educating them on the dangers of subsatances that could be seen as part of enjoying life but will lead to ruining their future,  promising to adhere to every admonition they have received from the organizers during the workshops.
