Leader Of Etung Legislature Convenes Solemn Assembly

The Leader of the Etung Legislative Council, Hon.ThankGod Ekpunse recently organized a solemn assembly and a general community meeting for the Abia Clan, marking the first of such gatherings for the year.  The well attended meeting brought together respected traditional and community leaders, including Ntufam Peter Okongor; Ntufam Mathew Ojong Tawor, Acting Clan Head; Ntunkae Ma Alice Akor, Women Chief; Ntufam Augustine Obi; Mrs. Victoria Njar, CRO Etung LGA; Mr. Cyrus Akor; Amb. Victor Abang, among other well-meaning sons and daughters of the clan. The people expressed immense satisfaction with the initiative, especially as it came after a period of various challenges faced by the community. The leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Cross River State Chapter, led by His Youthfulness Comr. Emmanuel Olayi, convened a stakeholders’ engagement meeting in the Central Senatorial District of the State on April 12, 2025. The event which held in Ugep, Yakurr Local Government Area brought together key stakeholders from the six LGAs within the district. The interactive session provided a platform for stakeholders to present their progress reports, highlight existing challenges, and offered strategic ideas to propel the council’s growth and development. C'River Deputy Chief Of Staff Attends Funeral Of Late Yala Paramount Ruler

The Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor of Cross River State, Hon. Boniface Okache, on friday 11th, April 2025, attended the funeral service of the late Paramount Ruler of Yala Local Government Area, His Royal Highness Ogamode Onah Ipuole, held at Oba, Okpoma in Yala LGA. Hon. Okache, known for his close relationship with the late monarch, other traditional leaders and indigenes of the community, expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. He described the late HRH Ogamode Onah Ipuole as a visionary, veracious and dedicated leader whose contributions to the development of Yala and its people remain indelible. He further noted that the revered ruler’s legacy would serve as a beacon for future generations, and he prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul. Hon. Okache was accompanied to the ceremony by his political associates and close allies.

Etung Legislative Leader Urges Cyclist Union To Reduce Transport Fare

The Etung Legislature has emphasized the need for transport fare to to remain affordable for passengers. The Leader of the Etung Legislative Council in Cross River State, Hon. ThankGod Ekupnse Ojong, alongside his colleagues , held a strategic interface with the leadership of the Etung Cyclist Union on Monday 7th April, 2025 at the the legislative chambers of Etung local Government council, to address pressing transportation issues affecting constituents. In his opening remarks, Hon. Ojong welcomed the invited guests to the legislative chambers and emphasized the importance of building a collaborative synergy between the Legislative Arm and the Cyclist Union, while highlighting the need for cooperation to help cushion the economic hardship faced by constituents, particularly in the area of transportation.
