CRS Residents Show Commitment To Maintaining A Clean, Green And Aesthetic Environment.

Residents of Cross River State have again shown high level of responsibility and commitment to keeping the State clean, through engaging in the monthly environmental sanitation exercise of January 2025, which held across the State today.

This was noted during an inspection tour to different area's of calabar metropolis carried out by the ministry of Environment inspectorate team, led by the commissioner of the ministry, Hon. Moses Osogi who was also accompanied by security personnel's, appointees of Government, Management staff of the ministry, task force and staff of media houses.
Parts of calabar metropolis visited are calabar road, watt market, bedwell, white house, mbukpa road, ekpo abasi road, musaha street, Marian market and mcc road, where business premises were locked by the owners to observe and take part in the environmental sanitation exercise.

The ministry of Environment Boss commended and expressed gratitude to Cross Riverians for complying with the sanitation laws of the State and also appreciated the developmental efforts of the Governor, His Excellency Apostle Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, in Cross River State.
The commissioner further uttered that, in this year 2025, the ministry has diverse approach towards sustaining a clean Cross River State, as the ministry's agenda for the year includes pool sanitation exercise that would be carried out by the ministry after every sanitation exercise. He frowned at the indiscriminate erection of illegal structures in the State and informed that, the illegal structures by roadside and waterways would all be demolished in the course of striving to achieve a clean and aesthetic environment in the State.

Hon. Osogi stated that, to maintain a clean and properly structured State, Government is building a fruit arcade at Mary slessor where fruit vendors would be relocated to, for continuation of their business. 
He charged Cross Riverians to support Government in the maintenance of a clean , aesthetic, and healthy Cross River State.
