CRS Consumer Protection Agency Seek Collaboration With NSCDC For Effective Operations.


The Cross River State consumer protection agency has expressed readiness to battle producers of fake, substandard and expired consumables.

The Director General of the agency, Dr. Charles Utsu Ushie who was accompanied by directors of the agency to pay a courtesy visit on the State commandant of the Cross River State command of the Nigerian security and civil defense corps(NSCDC), emphasized on the dire need for collaboration between the agency and the NSCDC, mentioned that the consumer protection agency is under the purview of the NSCDC for intensive security during enforcement by staff of the agency and further appealed to the State commandant to extensively inform his officers at the local Government area offices to be proactive In aiding the agency perform it's enforcement successfully.
Responding to Dr. Charles Ushie and his directors, the State NSCDC commandant appraised the Governor of Cross River State HE Sen.Prince Bassey Edet Otu for his salutary leadership and briefed the agency of the command's approval to their earlier written request of applying for civil defense officers to accompany them in Operators both within the State capital and local Government areas.

While lamenting on the incessant circulation of expired and substandard consumables in the market which he has been victim of their purchase and consumption, he applauded the agency for the proactive measures it is applying to corp the menace and assured the agency of adequate security from his command to enable them carry out their operations successfully both in the city, local markets, super stores, eateries, pharmacies, bakeries and stalls.

The commandant also complained of lack of operational vehicles and requested for mobility from the agency to enhance their operations.

Finally the Director General and his directors thanked the NSCDC State commandant and his officers for accepting to co-operate with the agency, assuring them of a good working relationship as they synergize to protect the health and lives of Cross Riverans.
