Work In Harmony - C'River Environment Commissioner Appeal To EHOAN, CREPA.
Cross River State Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Moses Osogi, has appealed to Environmental Health Officers Association of Nigeria (EHOAN) Cross River State Chapter and Volunteer Workers of the Cross River State Environmental Protection Agency (CREPA) to work harmoniously in achieving effective coordination of all environmental matters in the state.
Speaking when members of the groups paid him a courtesy call in his office in Calabar, Hon. Osogi stated that the Ministry is poised to ensure effective control of environmental issues and that it's also committed to providing an enabling platform for professional work force in the environment sector to achieve desired goals.
He stressed the need for the two bodies to collaborate to ensure strict adherence to global best practices in presation and protection of the environment which remains the only hope for man's survival.
Earlier in his address, the President EHOAN Cross River State Chapter, Sanitarian Dr. Simon Obogo, disclosed that their visit was to familiarize with the Commissioner and get him acquainted with the activities of CREPA whose workers according to him are majorly volunteers.
While describing them as highly dedicated and skilled volunteers , Sanitarian Obogo solicited for their employment in the State's Civil Service when such an opportunity presents itself inorder to enable them contribute their quotas in protecting the environment.
The Association President further pledged the association's support and full involvement in the Ministry's activities, adding that the statewide monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise, improved waste management and environmental aesthetics of the State have become visibly notable since inception of the administration.
Praying for more grace upon the commissioner, he further congratulated the commissioner on his recent election as the Deputy Chairman of Nigeria Forum of Environment Commissioners during the just concluded 17th meeting of National Council on Environment (NCE).
