UNICAL PGSG Set To Hold Her Students Week And Launching Of Her One Hundred And Sixty Millions Naira Modern Postgraduate Students' Lecture Block Project.

 


The University of Calabar postgraduate Students' Government during a press conference with news men, rolled out activities of the postgraduates students week which is aimed at launching the postgraduates students lecture hall project costing One hundred and sixty million (160,000 000) naira.


According to the University of calabar Postgraduates students Government president, Comr. Bernard Edet, the students week celebration will commence with a solemn assembly on the 20th of November and run through the 26th with a week long of fascinating activities that are meant to embellish, add value and fun to the student week which will be used to launch the Postgraduates students lecture hall project that has been the dreams and yearnings of the University of Calabar postgraduates students long ago. further more he lamented that, the postgraduates students have over the years suffered challenges of inadequate lecture halls which has led them to struggling lecture halls with the undergraduate students and as researchers it is inapt for them to continue in such exhibitions which is why they have put all modalities in place to ensure the Postgraduates students lecture hall is achieved to enhance the accademic activities of the postgraduate students.


He also mentioned the challenges faced by the postgraduate students to include poor internet facility, accommodation, water, electricity etc, though commended the efforts of the University management towards mitigating their challenges but further emphasized that as researchers they require a conducive and well equiped learning structure to facilitate their research works which will enable them give back the society the needed solutions to the contemporary challenges that are been faced.

Concerning the prestigious award night,  Sen. Thomas Akwaji told press men that all modalities have been set in place to ensure adequate security and decorum at the venue for the award night and he is assuring attendees of their safety as no form of security threat would be experienced throughout the period of the event.

The press conference gave deep insight on the activities of the students week which would be of great benefit to the University of calabar postgraduates students and the University community at large.
