Tourism ministry Tour yakurr Communities Ahead Of Leboku, Encourage Unity.

In a significant move by the Government of Cross River State to rejuvenate the lost splendour in Leboku International New Yam festival, the Honourable commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon Chief. Robert Abubakar Ewa has led a delegation of the management and staff of his ministry who met with the different Obol Lopon of yakurr communities in their palace, seeking for unanimous participation of their communities in the yakurr Leboku International New yam festival. Communities whose Obol lopon were visited by the commissioner and his team members includes, Ugep, Ekori, Assiga old and new Town, Inyima, Nko, mkpani, Agoi and Idomi communities.   Describing the Leboku International festival as significant to Government and international communities, the commissioner lamented on the loss of grandness that Government has observed in the past Leboku festivals held. Ewa Robert Abubakar has given charge for a unified Leboku International festival this year where all Yakurr communities will come together to participate in the event, enunciated that Leboku is an international event that was built on the foundation of unity for all Yakurr communities. C'River Government Seek To Strengthen Leboku International Festival In Yakurr

The Honourable commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture in Cross River State, Hon Chief. Robert Abubakar Ewa has paid a courtesy visit on the Obol Lopon of Ugep and Paramount Ruler of Yakurr Local Government Area' His Royal Majesty Obol Ofem Eteng Ubana, to seek collaboration with the traditional institution and organizers of the Leboku international festival for adequate preparations and strengthening of the festival to make it lofty this year. Addressing the Obol Lopon and paramount Ruler of Yakurr, the Honourable Commissioner remarked that, the Leboku festival has been prioritize in the Tourism calendar of the state which is why Government is passionate about it.
